That is an excellent looking bike there. I'm not all that big on the cafe look but I love the way that is turning out. It was said above, but some things just look right and yours is definitely one of those.

I wish i had an update for you guys and myself but the cb has been put on the back burner till i get settled in and buy a house or at least rent one... I have to go to oklahoma for some FAA school for a month and then when i get back to phoenix i'll start in on it again. it probably needs another 5hrs of work to be close to finished but i needed to finish my other truck before i left so it got the attention

it's sad to say but this bike hasn't been touched in over a year. i got it going took it in for emissions and it failed and i lost interest and time and started new projects.
in the last year a dirtbike rim fell on the tank leaving a dent, my nephew dropped the seat and put a chip in it, the front caliper started leaking, and hmm what else. i started lurking on the site again and i've got it up and going again.. finished my shorty exhaust and extended the center stand so it actually holds the rear tire off the ground... the stator gets really hot if i turn the ignition on even without the bike running. i've checked the wiring twice and its fine and no wires are getting hot just the stator cover. The idle is sporadic and i figure maybe an air leak somewhere but i never did get the jetting figured out before so that might be some of it

Surely they don't expect a 40 year old bike to meet modern emission standards, if this were the case there would be nothing over 10 years old on the road.

Ok so my problem is i've been messing around with jetting and finally got the right main jet in but when i went from a 105 to a 115 something happened with my idle. When i give it gas it takes forever to come down from 3000 rpms to idle and the idle is sporatic and needs adjustment sometimes . if i turn the idle screw down it will drop off revs like normal and drop back to 1000rpm before it dies after a few seconds sound crisp and clean when i do this. the bike idled fine before but was running lean. No air leaks from the test i've done. i'm thinkin i need to drop a notch on the needle jet. pleas help !!!!!

From what I understand an idle hang-up can be caused by a lean condition, if your bike has been sitting for a while the pilot jets may be clogged causing this.

I'm with ya but it doesnt' make sence that when i turn the idle screw way down it drops off rpms quick and crisp... i'm gonna take them apart and give htem a once over.. also make sure the needle jet is seating properly on the main jets

stock carbs! velocity stacks i got off ebay over a year ago.. pretty sure same guy sells them still

Not sure if you have figured out where you license plate should go but you should check out my build and look at the license plate. It is half hidden but you can still see it and it doubles up as a rear fender. Just an idea.

I have had similar problems with my custom exhaust and pods the latest dilemma is getting the engine to take gas mid to low rpm,it runs like a race bike on top end just not road friendly. one of the conclusions I have came to is that the stock carbs need more than just air flow they need some vacuum or negative pressure to draw fuel from the bowl.

When I regain enough energy to try it again I think I will be looking for a later model carb set up with a accelerator pump and possibly a fuel pump

i have to many hobbies! I can't believe it's been another year since i've worked on it... well i finally ordered some new main jets and i'm gonna move the needle down one clip. i've got a new voltage regulator and rectifier i need to put in. then sync the carbs get emissions on it and ride it.
