So, my friend Chundy's aunt was moving, and had some things in her basement.  Chundy called me to see if I wanted anything...

The motor with the buffing wheel was made in England.  The motor driving the belt is a Hoover made in the US of A.  There's another motor on the bottom shelf (Westinghouse) also made in the USA.  All 4-5 amp motors running at 1750 RPM and between 1/2 and 1/3 HP.

Seems to be plenty of power for buffing.  The pulleys on the belt driven setup look like they'll spin the wheels at 2x the motor RPM.

Thanks Chundy!

  • So, what do ya wanna talk about today?
That looks fantastic mate, Hooray for Chundy's auntie! I love tools, I've got a big lathe, Milling Machine, Boring Bar etc, one of my staff has a mate who's just retired, anyways he's a backyard engineer who built his own Surface Grinder about 30 years ago, and was still in use in his shop last year. I thought I might go visit him and see if he's interested in parting with it, I'd love to be able to deck heads and cylinder blocks too, in house! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I just don't have room for all this stuff unfortunately!  Right now my car is outside in deference to my bike and all these bits and peices.  I have 4 gas tanks, a couple of wheels and a header floating around in my garage right now.  Got to get rid of some of it.

I need a tank for my 81 cb650c.  Make and model dont matter much to me, I can mount it some way or another and use it.  I am using a 3 wheeler tank rigfht now and thats fine and all, but I have to fill it up 3 times a day.  I will post a pic this evening.
