So my 98 CBR600 is rattling pretty loudly with the clutch out....as soon as I pull it in it is quiet as a mouse. It shifts fine and no drag or creeping or any other symptoms. Thoughts?

I also belong to a CBR forum but the guys on there don't seem to be the greatest from a technical questions standpoint...so I figured I would turn to my SOHC buddies for help...

Thanks in advance,
Dennis

Wet clutch....to be honest I just got it a couple of months ago and havent even taken the side panels off let alone read the shop manual I snagged...too much fun riding it to wrench on it...

I suspected the carb sync but because it seems to idle so well I didn't want to go buggering around with the carbs...especially since I don't have a sync tool and didn't want to have to come up with the $100 or so....but I will need it soon enough for my CB750 anyways...

Thanks for the help as always guys...

If you're going to break down and buy a manometer, go first class and get the Morgan carbtune,  you'll never regret it.  About $125 USd, but worth it in headaches and time saved.
