Different airbox F? K?
« on: September 03, 2006, 07:18:59 PM »
I was just doing a little work on my bike and noticed that my airbox says Cb750-F, But my bike is a K4. Did someone just swap in a different airbox? I think? My bike does have some beat up aftermarket 4-1 exhaust, maybe it has pods or something at one time and the next owner switched back to stock with a random airbox.

no, they all say F on the air box. What you have is normal.

This is a great resource.  I had the same question, since my 74 750 k also says 750 f on the air box, and here is the answer.

By the way, I just switched to #35 from #40 idle jets because the bike always smelled like it was idling rich and it seems to be better.

The idle screws just don't do very much on my carbs though.  In fact, the further in they are, the better it runs.  This was the same with both pilot jets sizes.

Where'd you get your new pilots?

The local Honda shop in Pelham, Alabama had them in stock!  I think they had to dig around for a while, and the book took a while to locate, but they found them.

Thanks, I also thought that was odd since I also had the "F" on my 750K7
