F owners can say before they leave:

I'm getting the F out of here.

Well. I still didn't make anything on my cylinder head (F2). Whay should I do? Installing Dynoman bronze valve guides or OEM Honda guides (superseeded)? Which ones are most durable? The valves are new.

My buddy just got into a '77 750F supersport w/ 11,000 miles. He's never ridden so I had to drive the thing home for him; I really liked it! It was very snappy but took forever to warm up even on a 85 degree day. The part I was most jelous of (versus my 750K1) were the duel disks up front and disk rear, might have to find a parts F or goldwing and swap for them, dam thing stopped on a dime! Anyways, my first experience with a 750 F and it was positive, cool bike :)

I love my beautiful F2. One day I will tear the engine down again and fix the leaking crankcases, and respray the tank sent all the way from Texas to replace the rotted out New York tank I spent a fortune on, but until that day I'll happily ride my trusty K0, K1, and K2.

The 1975 F is rare, and the K7/K8 is probably rarer, but their "rare-ness" (if that's a word) is only surpassed by their ugliness, hence the rareness, even Honda couldn't go on building them, they couldn't stand the rows of vomit buckets lining the production line. Sorry, but it's true, they're great bikes, and reliable to boot, but if they were chicks, they'd be fat girls with great personalities, whereas the F2/F3 would be beautiful #$%*es with nasty dispositions..............  >:(

My sympathies lie with the poor bugger above who owns a K8 with an F2 engine fitted, geez, talk about the worst of two worlds! I bet the other guy riding the F2 with the K8 engine can't stop smiling, ha ha! ;D
This post has envy all over it. :D Terry... you forgot the harness, fuse box cover and kickstand I sent you. BTW     what happened to that head I sent you?? Bent valves, broken guides etc?

G'Day Mike, I saw you'd replied and I was expecting a scolding for hanging shiite on the F/F1's, ha ha! No, I reckon I covered your generous cooperation (and that of several other members here) with my post in the "A-hole PO's" thread.

The (beautiful) head that you built for me appears to be completely unscathed Mike, it's back in it's plastic bag until the engine comes out again this spring so I can install the Wiseco 836cc kit I've bought for the K1. I don't have time to go much further with the endurance racer project for awhile, so I'll put that engine back in my K1, or maybe my F2, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I think the F's styling is an acquired taste.  For the longest time, the only CB750 that I thought was attractive was the K0.  I still think it's the best looking, but since I wound up with an F1, (not my plan at all, was waiting for a similar condition K0), well, the more I looked at it, the better looking it got.  Even without beer-goggles!

Now, I kinda like 'em.  Not as much as the K0, but better than the non-K0 K's.  For example, when parked next to my brother's K3, I like the F1 better, and the fact that the F1 far outperforms the K3, (according to period magazine tests), well, she got it where it counts.  ;D

The F0 (or K0 Super Sport as Honda refers to them) or F1 will always look better than a fat broad (beer goggles) no matter how much liquor you consume. If it doesn't, you my friend, have a definite problem (liquor). I'd much rather be seen leaving the bar on my F0 than with a fat broad. I always exited the bars through a different door than the fat girls anyway.  ;)

Since this is starting to become show and tell for F owners, here's mine:

In response to the original question on this thread, this is what I got myself into.  Quite happy and never looking back.  K models are perfectly fine in their own right but I love the F!

YES, Brakes are a good thing!!! Looks can be changed. My F3 had 12K miles when I got it. the exhaust guides were trashed!!! Had over .010 of slop! Put the K topend on it and be done! Might as well big bore and cam it too!! DON'T USE AFTERMARKET VALVE SEALS!!!!!! THEY ARE TOO TALL FOR BIG LIFT CAMS!!!!!!!!!!! I found this out the hard way ( twice )!!! SOB :( Measure Measure Measure!!!!!!!!!!!
The thing about common sense is that, it's not that common.

PAXTON mate, thats a great looking example, and i agree with you, this was my first SOHC and have had a gret trip down 'memory lane' as it were, the only issues i have ever had with my F was due 100% to the PO....... otherthan that i rebuilt the motor with an wisco 836 kit, and did 25000km in the first year it was back on the road!!!!... it was my daily rider for over 12 months.... never missed a beat..(though they need fuel... remember which way you have turned the petcock!!!!! LOL)

this thread is bloody awesome... well done guys....

OH AND MORE PICS!!!!

If it's show and tell time here's mine after one of my winter rides. Not a great pic but you get the idea. I just picked up a NIB Kerker muffler for it now I'm looking for a header. I haven't touched the engine but just about everything else has been rebuilt or upgraded.

Thanks cben750f1!  Some really nice bikes on here so far!  Let's see more!

I've done everything myself including the paint (fire red metalflake on black base).  Luckily, I started with a good motor, didn't run when I got it but runs like a champ now.  Doesn't burn or give me any probs so no use taking it apart.  It used to leak oil like a brit bike but I got everything buttoned up now.  My only real pains were wiring in the 2006 gsxr controls, no wiring diagrams plus I'm color blind so it keep me up late at night.  One more teaser:

Well, I'm actually working on grabbing a K8 right now. So, who knows! I might be wandering into another debacle. I know that I could have purchased a newer, fancier, maybe pick up chicks bike already, but I just love the old 750's. Maybe I'm mentally challenged. Maybe I have 'issues'. I'm not sure.

Yeah, what he said...   :D
