by the way I still have a couple sets of stainless steel braided brake lines custom made for the F2-f3's had to have a minimum order of 10 lines so I got a few sets made up. PM me if your interested. They make a HUGE difference on the brake feel! No sponge at all. 30 year old rubber hoses are not safe. Also have a set of origianal side covers in primer for f1, left cover fits all?

How many sets do you have left and do you have a close up of the lines?

Do you have the rear line as well as the front. I already have fronts but I'd be interested in a rear.

This was when I first got her, but she doesn't look much different now. Those ugly headers are still on there. All of my time/money has gone into the mechanics/electrical. The cosmetics will have to wait until last. Hopefully this winter I'll be able to get her looking a little better. Until then, I'm having a blast riding!

I might be interested in the group sidecovers purchase too.

Looks great.  Wouldn't even sweat the pipes, they look fine.  If it makes you feel any better, I think we all have our wiring horror stories.

He's worried about the pipes and no one even knows what brand my header is including me.

Set or individual side?

I like the color !
Well, my left is broken, but the right is cracked, so possibly a set, depending on price.

That's original Candy Antares Red as far as I know.

Thanks, jtb. I knew that, I was just testing you.  ::) ;D ;D

Thanks, but the pictures make everything look better than they really are. Two of the pipes are still mostly chrome, the other two are rusted more than 1/2 way down. They're still solid, so I'm not in a big hurry to replace them, but they look pretty bad. I painted the front forks and calipers when I replaced the fork seals, polished the aluminum (including carbs), and did a good overall cleaning and it looked a lot better. I have only just begun!

These are still from last year, but they look a little better:

I'm up for a set Hocky, how much mate? Could you fit a half gallon jug of Jack Daniels in the box too? :D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Who would be down for a group buy on the 77-78F side covers? I could email David Silver and see how many individual orders at once we would need to lower the price down. Usually it takes 10 to make the price drop down enough. Maybe if we get 10 people perhaps we could go from 30 to 20 lbs a piece. On other forums... 10 people or more would commit to the vendor through purchases and the product would realease at the discounted price.

Side cover group buy
1) Wheelhorse--- I really could use a set.. my right side is cracked as well
2) Rhonda750 --- Set
3) Mikedialect--Left side

Add me kuyarico to the list. Thanks

You need a set or just one side?

Since they're coming from the other side of the Atlantic, I should probably order a set. :) Thanks

G'Day Wheely, well there is, but it's actually distilled here in Oz, so I need to do some "scientific research" to see what differences there are between the product of our two great nations, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

You better just send some to us and we'll test if for you :P What does it cost there? I think its around $30 for a 1/2? For 5-1/2 gals you could get a set of brake lines 8) ($150)

All you F experts - is this really worth $500? I know a bit about K's but nothing about F's. A good project bike?

Man, if that wasn't missing so many parts I'd say yes.  I paid $700 for my bike and it ran.  Not good, but it ran.  Shop around and be patient, you'll find your bike for the price you want to pay.  Too bad, 75-76 are good years.

Cheers,

It would be a great companion to another F of the same year, but I would not pay 500. I would pay 150 easy.

I bet if you pulled up with $200 and a pickup truck you'd leave with a bike....

75-76 F's don't have the crappy F2 heads, I'd pick it up if it was closer to me.

Man, what's up with hogging two nice F models?  No fair, spread the wealth!  I like the frame on that 76, been trying to figure out what I want to do with mine.  Been thinking about gold powder coating it and the rims.

Why wait?  Just yank one off that ugly K model.  The K model is a great parts bike even if it is cosmetically challenged.

Paxton!

Dude you're crazy!  Riding that beautiful cafe in the snow like that...  Please tell me you're runnin studded snows ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nice rides.

And Magpie,

I would say that it's not really worth it.   For $200 IF the motor's good I would pick it up, but with all the other parts you'll need it just isn't worth it.

I bought my runner for $400 and have put in another $600 just getting her ship shape.... Now I'll be spending on making her look better.  But mine was a runner from day 1 at that money.   I would just wait at that price.

Cheers mate,

Ben

huzzah! my '78 750F may get to see the road again. as the other day i became extremely lucky to have ran across a spare K3 engine with 15K. although, i don't intend to ditch the F2. dynoman now has a high compression 836cc big bore kit specifically made for the notorious black engines.
