Sparty's bike is going back together
« on: August 02, 2007, 12:43:43 PM »
Guys,

My engine will be ready for pick-up next week.  I began putting the bike back together yesterday.  I was down to just the bare frame.  Here are some pics.

Best,

Ben,

Yes it is.  It looks cool there.  I also replaced the bullet turn signals with mini-cateye signals to match the front.

The frame was powdercoated for a second time with much better results and it was free!

I also replaced almost every bolt, nut, and washer.  That was expensive.

I made a hanger for the Dyna 2000 module that mounts to the battery box.

The bike will be better than new from the factory when all is finished.

Sparty,
Is that a brake light on the back fender or just a reflection ?
Those lights look great, where'd you get them if you don't mind ?
can't wait to see the finished product
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I attached a side panel emblem to the rear fender.

Actually,  Mike said that he will stand behind the build.  That is another reason I chose Mike to do the build.

I chopped the rear fender.   The pics show the shape I was going for.  To mount the Dyna 2000 I bought some sheet aluminum, cut it to size, bent it to size, drilled holes in the battery box and bracket and used screws and nuts to mount the bracket to the battery box.  I then drilled holes in the bracket to accept the Dyna module.  I took my time with the fab up.  It works perfectly and looks good also.
