I just drove home through this storm, power went out so couldn't work on the computers.

Lots of trees down and lots of water.

Yikes!

We had a freak rainstorm in Cleveland yesterday.  It only hit downtown and the east side, dropped 5" of rain in 90 minutes including some penny size hail.  Flash floods, general chaos ensued.

However, since the official rain measurements are taking at Hopkins airport on the west side, no rain fell there so on the record books it says Cleveland had 0.00 precipitation yesterday.

Radars not nearly as bad now, I hated the wind more then the rain.  Plus they gave tornado warnings :o

PS: Bike ran like a champ in all that water.  Also had Hondaman's EI on the bike, so thats water proof too.

Yikes is right!

As an aside, if that island southwest of St. John is Grand Manan, my wife and I honeymooned there. A bit awkward to get to by car. Long way around through Canada and it's just a stone's throw off the Maine coast. :-\

Yep it is.  One of the guys I work with use to have to catch the ferry in the morning to do his computer case load then catch it in the afternoon to get home.  His rotation was there one day a week, really sucked in the winter.  If you ever get back up this way, stop in and we'll have a "cold one" over looking the "Worlds longest covered bridge"

Sounds good. I remember the ferry, 90 minutes. It reminded me of the ferries across Lake Michigan, except back when I took them, they were actually railroad ferries but squeezed cars in if they had room. One day we decided to venture off the island and took a trip to St. John.
