falling apart condition..the headers are good but mufflers bad. might turn them into drags and sell them.

Your perceived increase in power might have come from going from a 'falling apart condition' exhaust to a 'non-falling apart condition' exhaust. Usually 4 into 4's produce more low end torque.

Allot of the time u "think" u are making more power when a bike/car becomes louder than u are used too.

Bike probably is significantly lighter, at least.  I'm sure it feels slimmer, and more nimble in traffic.  You've probably got better ground clearance for turning, too.

What's the calibration date on the seat of your pants?  And was that lateral or vertical certification?

 ;D

Glad you're happy with the new stuff.

i am very suprised that u can tell much of a difference in the wieght reduction... u really didnt lose all that much weight... But being that most, if not all of the weight of your decrepid exhaust was below the center of gravity on your pile your bike now has a slightly higher center of graviy...handleing worse than before........I think...that is...Am I wrong?

IIRC, EACH of the double-walled 4-4 pipes from my old 550 exhaust weighed about the same as my MAC 4-1.  Two of those 4-4 were also definitely higher than my entire 4-1 as well.

I think it hurt the handling a little at real slow speeds. only have ridden it two time since I did it so I will have to do some more pants diagnostics and check it out.

4-1=more backpressure=better performance.

I don't think that's the way it works....

That's the way i've always been told...  I think your bike would run a lot better if you put a jet-kit in it.  The jet-kits are designed for the different back pressure and is adjustable accordingly to the 4-1 exhaust.  I've been thinking about getting a 4-1 pipe for a while.  What kind of pipe did you get, and where from?

the header is a kirker and the muffler is an I dont know....The handling I dont think was effected by it I just put drag bars on a week ago so it is hard to tell which hurt low speed handling a little. But as far as regular and high speed handles 1000 times better.
