Unfortunately I live 900 kilometers north of Stockholm...
But if you end up heading north on your visit, make sure you holler!
I´ve got two bikes and can only ride one at a time  ;)

nice... i hope to find more out in the next few weeks.
elizabeth's grandmother works for icelandair and bought her and i a trip for graduation.  so we'll be there w/ grandma and maybe an aunt.  i doubt they'd be too into the motorcycle mayhem but, they would be willing to let us go for a day if we were somewhere near one of you guys.
i do hope i can at least meet one of you that lives across the pond.

I´m in Luleå, another 60 kilometers north of where I used to live  :-\
Been sooo busy rebuilding the house I bought but it is finally getting closer to the end. All that is left is the inside.....
Hasn´t had the time to ride much this summer and the 750 hasn´t turned a wheel. Sadly...
Anyways, I will probably hang around these neck of the woods mostly.
My girlfriend is situated in Stockholm though, and I will most likely go visit her during weekends.
Would be cool to meet up, have a beer and give you a tour of the capitol!
Let me know your itenerary and we´ll work something out!

Cheers
Dan

Hi.
Do you know the exact locatiuons you are going to or is your trip a tour "the Nordic countries"?

I live in Denmark and have a couple of CB550K's. It could be fun to have a visit from the US to have a ride with.

My location in Denmark is 5 miles north or Aarhus.

PM me if you pass by.

On Sept 2 when we arrive in Reykjavik, iceland we take the Reykjavik
Excursion  bus that will take us on the Saga Circle Tour

The next morning, the 3rd, we do the Golden Circle Tour which is
pretty much about the geology of Iceland... that night we'll be visiting the blue lagoon.

The next morning we leave for Stockholm.  We don't have any tours
planned for Stockholm.  We'll see what interests us when we get there.

we'll be hanging around in stockholm from the 4th until the 8th of september.

While in Stokholm, check out the Viking ship they dug up out of the harbor and be sure to watch the changing of the guard at the palace.  Same ceremony for the last 600 years or so.  3X as long as we (USA) have even been around; something to think about.

I was in Reykjavik back in '74, but only for a layover while they 'fixed' the airplane  :o  :o so I can't help much there.  The tiny bit I saw was beautiful if I recall; but then I was just a little wippersnapper.

If you have spare time take a trip along the southcoast. It is the flat agricultural part or iceland and have some very astonishing waterfalls not big but very beautifull. it is the water melted of from the gletchers. Several places you can also find the remains of the very old shelters the boys looking after the sheep was using.

In between are the great rocks ind the sea that pushed up here due to the vulcanic activity.

You can take a trip to the islands that came to the surface in the mid 80ties - was it named Heimay?

If you haven't seen whales remember to take on a whale hike with the boats from either Reykjavik og from the habour at Keflavik. I don't know if it is good season but ask them they will know.

Awsome pics.  There's people on the trail next to the Icelantic waterfall that puts it in perspective.  It doesn't look too dark at 10:00 pm, is Iceland one of those places that have an eternal day (or night, seasonally dependent)?

yes, iceland is pretty far north and it gets dark late.  it was still dark for about 5 or 6 hours per night this time of year but, nights are even shorter in the mid summer.

i'll post more as i get them up on photobucket
