Daniel, that is a very nice example.
Is that the model with a cable operated front disk brake?

I just bought the same bike! Mine a "75 and silver but it's identical. Do you have the carburetor float setting and adjustments available and the tune up specifications? Mine has only 1260 miles on it and I'd really like to get her back on the road.

How exactly did the cable-front disc work?   Like a bicycle's?

I was always interested in that cable disc brake.

Why did Honda do it?
Why didn't they do it on any other models?
Was it effective?
Downsides to it?
Upsides to it?
Why not retrofit it to other small bikes like 350 twins or such?  Problems thereof?

I REALLY want a 200 for a bang-around bike.  LOVE the tank.

The basic operation is a ball and ramp like the 350/360 twins and 500F clutch release. (and probably others I cant think of at present)
What messed it up is the awful ratchet automatic adjuster mechanism that needed careful maintainance and initial adjustment.
When it works, it works well.
When it doesn't, (i.e. most of the time) it sucks big time.
It was supposed to be cheaper and lighter than hydraulic but the precision machining involved probably made it more expensive and at best the same weight.
Its another good Honda idea that got over engineered into a disaster.
I really wouldn't/couldn't advise anyone to retrofit it to anything and even on the  200 ditching it for hydraulics would be a massive improvement.

PS,
I spent way too much time in the late 70's, early 80's, making theses things work as well as they could.
If you ask nice, I'll tell you how I really feel  :D
