Has anyone found a source for 750 side covers?  I've got a '78 F2, and really need both of them, and the badge for the left side.

You can often find originals on ebay but you'll pay dearly for good condition covers.  There are 2 types of "aftermarket" side covers that I've seen.  One is the kind that are attached by screw (Maier).  These are a slightly different shape than factory in two ways.  1) Their attach point is a screw hole and associated lug inserted where the tab of an original side cover would go.  2) They don't have the "indentation" for the emblems (see pic).  I have seen other aftermarket sidecovers (LPM Plastics) on ebay that are made of some sort of plastic that completely retain the shape of the original. 

Fielder's choice I guess.  Sounds like you want the factory emblems of which I've seen NOS and reproductions.  In that case, you'll want an original or the one that has the indentations in the side cover for your emblems (not like the picture).

David Silver spares has pattern side covers, bought mine (CB750F1 LH) from eBay, they also do badges.

Originals are hard to find, but if you're patient and lucky you might find and win a bin on Ebay.  Took me a year, but snagged these off Ebay this July.  The right one had cracks around the posts and they were paint flat black.  $20 in paint and one weekend and they done.  I think they turned out fairly good.  Oh yeah, the winning bid was $37 and they came with the emblems.
