neutral for case assembly? K5 750
« on: August 12, 2007, 12:28:52 PM »
Hello folks,

I am reassembling my case halves and have a quick question about neutral.  Does the tranny have to be in neutral to reassemble?  Is this the only way it can be for the center fork to line up? How do I determine it it is in neutral?   I have searched and read about the different problems experienced and do not want to repeat.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  The bike is a K5 750.

Thanks
Dave Hughes

I think you can find neutral on the shift drum by inserting the neutral light switch on the bottom of the case. Then every shift fork and gear should line up.

That's how I did mine but haven't finished the build up so I can't confirm if it works.
Baja native.

Thank you for the reply.  That sounds like a good way to do it.  I'll give it a try.

Any additional thoughts?

Dave
