Steve F. identified the motors as jet engines used for large model aircraft.

It is worth the repost. I watched it all the way through again. He's one brave guy and gets bonus points for attempting that stunt in the mountains of Switzerland.

That was slick.  Once upon a time my ambition in life was to join the red-eyed hippies that jumped off the local bluffs with hang-gliders.  Does that qualify as an ultra-light?

Well, it would of course depend on what country you are in, since ultra-light rules vary from place to place.  It would not qualify in the states, as I'm sure its top speed is greater than 65mph in level flight.  Otherwise, I believe it would meet all other requirements.
