I didn't ride, but it was fun... *photo post*
« on: August 13, 2007, 12:39:37 PM »
So I met up with some of my SV friends on Sunday.  Since I'm temporarily bike-less, I led the way in my truck for 5 other riders up to Richmond to have a good 'ol backyard picnic and then a ride.  I'm a photo nut, so I figured I could have some fun just snapping some shots as others enjoyed the pleasures of 2 wheels.  All of the shots taken from the truck were by the passenger though.

Crossing the James River Bridge.

Ok, so I took this one.  Just held the XTi up and snapped one.

BSing.

Artsy shots of some SV's.

Everyone geared up and we headed out on some local back roads.  We stopped at one spot on a little curve so I could get some "action" shots.  I need alot of practice... only got a handfull that were somewhat decent.  I was dissapointed in the least.

Yeah... that's a cop behind him.  But it's a speed limit run on a public road.

We head out and 2 vehicles get between me and the bikes.  First one was a truck towing a boat, and in front of him was a car going about 10 under the limit.   >:(  By the time they turned off, the bikes were nowhere to be found.  Just as I was about to turn around and head the only other way I think they could have gone, we meet up at an intersection.  They'd gone the other way, but looped back around.  It was luck that the road I was on met up with them.   ;D

Anyhoo... I keep following and we stop one last time at a gas station to rest and some people can head home.  It's 6pm and the married guys are getting nervous.   ;)

Random Artsy shots from a gas station parking lot.

This guy shows up.

Yes... it's a ...

We head out and our little Hampton Roads crew heads down Rt. 5 towards Williamsburg.  It's a nice ride if anyone happens to be in the area.  Anyway, everyone does their best "Ricky Racer" impression at a whopping 60mph.   ;)

Another "relaxed" shot.

It was past 8pm when I got home.  I really missed not being on the bike, but I think I was able to get many more pics than if I was riding.

Ironically, my new leather pants came in today.  Have to wait to get the bike back together before I can see how they feel while in the saddle.  I did walk around the house with them, and they seem to fit perfectly.
