  • So, what do ya wanna talk about today?
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Anybody know where I can get some 155

Reminds me of many years ago when I won a commemorative can from Strohs beer honoring the 100th anniversary restoration work on the Statue of Liberty (Strohs was a sponsor for the project). It turned out the can was unopened. My college room mate saw it and he was like, "Hey! Let's open it and drink it!!" My thoughts were exactly those already written above.. YUCK!! :P

My uncle has some sealed Billy Beer from the 1982 Worlds Fair in Knoxville, TN.

Probably wouldn't go for a half million, but I'd take 50 bucks for the 6 pack  ;D

A buddy brought me a 6-pack of Harley Beer from Sturgis one year.  It sucked, but after the first two, it improved dramatically.

Well, this story gets crazier.  Check out the original auction that closed in June:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270132264843

Not a bad return on a $300 investment.  I'm betting the $500,000 auction was a lark - it just looks too crazy stupid to not be a joke.

I've got this scene running through my head where on the night of the auction the high bidder is being nagged to get into the kitchen to help with the dishes....He's bidding away, $503.000, and he's in. Meanwhile wifey is through in the other room thinking, "That silly old duffer is buying another bottle, well, at least it keeps him out of the pub, what harm can it do?"

I've been collecting bits and pieces for about 30 years but I've never, ever, seen anything like this.

It's not like it's a rare motorcycle that he at least can ride around on and tinker with. All he has is bragging rights to the most expensive beer in the world.

When I see stuff like this I think he should now go and buy and goat for a village in Kenya or somewhere and maybe put down a well for some drinking water for the village also while he is at it. He can certainly afford to do it.
