about these regulator numbers?
« on: July 09, 2005, 05:47:47 AM »
Hi All, I have several regulator from cb650's, and they all have different numbers after SH236-12. Because I didn't mark what year they are from ..... I am wondering, are they significant, will they fit all years etc etc

What are the numbers?
Lots of electrical/electronic parts have date codes that can be confused for part numbers. Japanese dates are sometimes based on the year of an emperor's reign, just to make things amusing. My 1976 400F was made in Showa 51 for example and the rectifier has a date code like 5112 on it. 2005 is Heisei 17, but using the dynastic dates is uncommon now compared to the 60s and 70s.
