Another New Guy
« on: August 19, 2007, 12:15:18 PM »
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum. I'm from Oregon City, Oregon and I just bought a 77 cb750 with a 73 motor in it. I don't really care if my clubman's are on backwards, I love the position and they do give a nice home for the guages. The bike's slightly rough, but I think it'll clean up nicely, especially with the great advice you guys are handing out.
Speaking of which, any advice you can give me about where to start would be helpful.
Thanks everyone,

Topher

Welcome.  Your Clubmans are mounted correctly.

Before making any mods, always do a complete tune up (plugs, oil, points, valves, etc.) so that you have a properly running engine as a base to start with and a place to diagnose any possible problems that require attention.  Modifications can either cause symptoms that look like other problems or can mask these problems.

Have fun!

Thanks, that's great advice, I already found a throttle glitch, and I think there might be a blockage on the drivetrain oiler. There is no muffler, does anyone have a recommendation about which type of muffler to put on?
