Press fit main jets - 400F
« on: August 17, 2007, 01:53:19 PM »

I removed the mains and noticed that the 'O" ring is shot on at least 2 of the carbs.  These two were running rich I think
Would a faulty "O" ring cause this?

Yes it would.  Get yourself a metric O ring set from Auto-Zone (or what ever auto parts store you have around).  You will find an O ring that will fit and if it feels too tight, use a little Marvels Mystery Oil to lube it.

"O" ring size is 4.2 x 1.1 (mm of couse) and dont forget gas proof!

I was able to get the carb bank out by removing the metal inlet runner from the airbox first.  The rest came out easy.  Replaced the float needle and main jet o rings and the bike now runs perfect.  I n't know why I put this project off so long.  It's like having a new bike to ride and I can't get enough of it.

Thanks

Good job! Ain't it nice when just a little work makes such a big difference?
