Hey Uncle, hope things are working out for you. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and WILL have a happy New Year too! ;)

On my side of things, we jumped trough our rears to get ready for Christmas (did I ever tell you all that I tend to be a procrastinator like my Dad?), went down today, got my Dad, brought him back, had a great meal, a great time visiting and, on the way back to his home this evening, he started telling me how much he enjoyed himself. Also, during conversation, he brought up that he wanted the 2 of us to get together soon and get things set up like they were, before my brother got things turned around his way! And some of you may find this interesting. On my way down to pick my Dad up this morning, I prayed about the situation and all. I went on to say that I'd given my brother every chance to help set things right between us and now, it was HIS turn. Next thing I knew, it was like I was hearing "What if I gave up on you!" Now, I feel like I've had answered prayer before but, this was so direct and straight forward. :) So, I will continue to pray about it and when it seems right, I'll see what happens. I wasn't really wanting to give him another chance. I've tried to get him to come around and he never seemed interested. And I was really getting tired of trying and getting no response. I know that, as a Christian, I'm not supposed to give up on someone though. Those who will, pray for me on this, I'll need it!

Droopy, that's the way it is supposed to go. ;) To often, we ask God for guidance and don't get the answer we want to hear. Then there are the things we try to work out ourselves, when if we'll just turn it over to HIM, he will handle it or show US the way. :) My Dad wants to change certain things back to to the way they were up until the 1st part of this year (instead of my brother getting most everything. In case you don't know, my brother somehow convince my Dad that I was taking money from him and I was cut out of most everything without even knowing it. I managed to find out about it and have pretty much turned things around, with God's guidance.) How ever things turn out, will depend on how my brother and his wife take it and whether they just accept it or not. My brother's not a gracious loser and if he considers it a loss, it could get quite ugly. I can accept and agree that there are things that my brother should get. My brother however, feels that he should get most (if not) everything. I continue to pray for him and his wife also.

For now, the main thing (to me) is that my Dad is having SOME times that he can fully relax and enjoy! ;) I know that he is lonesome though. It really gets me when I leave cause he stands there at the door, watching as I get in my van and prepare to leave on then slowly closes the door. :-\ If there was anyway, I'd make room and have him up to our house for a few days now and then.  But, our house is so small. I AM considering going down for a few days (at least) once in a while. But first, I'll have to design and build some sort of lift (for the van & I have an electric winch already) to get James' (the "Special Needs" young man we work with) wheelchair in and out of the van because my wife can't lift it.

Hah!  If you don't like the answer, don't ask the question.  Cosmo has has me do a back-flip occasionally, too.  However- the answer you got may not mean exactly what your first impression thinks.  Let it roll around in your head for a while.  Be open    to various meanings / possibilities, as well as the bro.
One time I asked, "How do I find myself?" and Cosmo shot back "Lose yourself".  Man- that was irritating.  Got me PO'd actually.  For a while I figured I'd have to wear a hair shirt and move to the dessert.
Turns out it was much bigger than that, and I was just part of a plan I wasn't aware of at the time.  I just had to be willing to go along by having a different perspective.   :-*  ::)  ;D

Well I go away for awhile, and come back to find that this thread is turning biblical! Anyway, I was so incensed about Unky Ernie getting the arse from Target that I prayed to God for an answer, and after drinking a half bottle of Makers Mark, his heavenly voice suddenly replied, "Fuuck 'em, kill 'em all mate, and I'll sort it out!"

Now there's a Target store a mile or two from here, I'm not sure if they'd know about what happened to Ernie, but do you think that I should carry out God's work there anyway? He really wasn't specific enough to tell me which store I should smite? I need to go exchange a pair of pants that I bought there yesterday anyway, so it's no biggie? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Terry ! ! !  I really appreciate the job offer.  I'll talk it over with Kathleen and get back to you.  BTW, what's a 2 BR with full basement (for the shop), and 2 car garage go for around there?

G'Day Ernie, well the house next door just sold for $340,000 AUD, (about $290,000 US) but it's a 3 BR house with no garage, so nowhere to work on your bikes? The Realtor stuck his head over the fence and told me that if I was interested he could get me $380,000 for mine as mine is a 4 BR house on a bigger block with a 20 x 30 garage. I'm guessing that this is the average around Melbourne, it's good that my house has almost doubled in value in 6.5 years, but only if I didn't have to buy another one, ha ha!

Basements/cellars are unheard of here, as are attics. Not sure why, I guess our houses are designed to suit our environment and extremes of temperature, so that might have something to do with it? Personally, I'd love to have both, I bought a part on EBay from a guy in Indiana, and he wrapped it in his local paper and the houses there were really cheap, and they all had basements and attics? I was thinking about emigrating until I read the sicko thread and decided that I could afford to live quite comfortably, but couldn't afford health insurance sadly. Maybe I could come back to Oz if I got sick? Have a good one Ernie, I'm off to Target! ;D

Amn, those places are expensive compared to my neighborhood.  About average for a lot of America though.  Our house has doubled, too.  Where else could we move if we sold it?  Plus, Kathleen's "stuff" would be too hard to move.  I still remember it took up a whole day to load marble pieces that only took up about 20 inches at the front of the truck. oy- couldn't do that again, plus we've got 3 times as much junk now.  Being poor white trash is fun, but it makes it hard to move.

Just re-reading... what the heck is "Amn" supposed to be?

I don't remember if I made it clear that my Dad want's to get things changed back that would put me back in as the Executor of his Will or not. He said that he wanted to put things the way that HE wanted them, not the way my brother wanted. This means that sometime within the next week or 2, I'll be going down for a "Visit" and we'll get things straight, as far as the one in charge of his affairs, should he get to where he can't do it himself. I'm also pushing for him to let me take him to an attorney so that he (my Dad) can make sure that things are set up the way that he wants them to be. When the time comes to do that though, I've strongly suggested that we be prepared to change ALL the locks on the place. I don't trust them (my brother & his wife) as far as I can throw them! >:( I DO insist that my brother gets what he should, but not necessarily all he WANTS! >:( When the time comes, I may be done there for at least a few days and so, I'll be offline for a few days. If I have the time to do so, I'll let you all know so you'll know why I'm not around as usual. ;) I primarily want my Dad to be treated right and taken care of properly. Secondly, I want what's rightfully mine and my brother to get what should be rightfully his. Dad is wanting to confront his Doctor about not being treated as he should have (my brother's wife talked in private to the doctor about my Dad and the doctor made his recommendations to my Dad with them there). My Dad never got to question the doctor and the doctor never met with just my Dad. Seems to me that the "Privacy Act" was violated. I'm trying to get my Dad to make an appointment with the doctor and ME take him to it. I have been talking to him about getting a good checkup so that we (he & I) can get a better idea of just what's going on with him and what's not! As I was getting the idea that Dad was possibly going to need someone else to spend some time with him, I just couldn't see how I could do it and my wife suggested (without me even telling her what I was thinking) that I should consider spending some time with him, when it was deemed necessary. If it becomes necessary for me to stay down there for anytime at all, we're going to have to get his van back from them (my brother and his wife). Not looking forward to that. ::)

Yeah, best of luck Bill, my dad and mum (mom) are in the US on vacation with my big sis in CA at the moment, dad turns 81 in a few days and unfortunately his prostate problem played up over the last few days and he's just come out of surgery. (doing fine)

Before they went away they legally gave me "power of attorney" and also made me the executor of their wills. I'm starting to hope that they both outlive me, because I'd hate to have to deal with winding down their estates, this house (I'm "house-sitting" at their place for a couple of days) is like a museum, and I can just imagine the arguments that will ensue when all 5 siblings start to put their bids in for stuff! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Hate to hear about your Dad's prostate problem, but glad that he's doing fine now. I certainly don't envy you having that responsibility (executor of the wills) and having 5 siblings to deal with in the process. I could have more folks to have to deal with, when the time comes but my brother is a pretty good load by himself. I'm glad that I don't have more to look forward to  dealing with. Of course NONE of us wants to rush the time when a Will comes into play either. I pray that, when the time comes, your siblings will have matured enough to be sensible (or at least somewhat). :-\  I've heard of some pretty nasty times form some families, when THAT time comes.

The few times i have ever had anything to do with anyones will i just basicly stood back and waited to see what sort of vultures came out of the woodwork...fortununitly i only had my my bro to deal with for the most part with my dads...but when kim died..gah...that was a mess...it was mostly a lot of ex bfs that were trying to claim things..which of course they never got but i still found it disrespectful...personally given my involvement in the day of her passing i didnt want anything and her parents didnt push because they understood my thoughts on the matter..

Yeah Chris, while some folks can remain pretty civil at times like that, it is amazing how totally opposite others can be! :-\ Good to know that you and YOUR brother can get along like that. I'm wishing MY brother wasn't greedy and had more respect for my Dad than he shows. :(

That's too bad about Kim's ex bf's lack of respect! :( When my Father-in-law passed on a few years ago, everything went quite well except for my wife's youngest brother's 2 teenage girls! >:( They were even squabbling over who would get what flowers (plants)! I mean just how stupid is that! >:( They showed total disrespect to my Father-in-law and the whole family actually. Since his passing, there has been a real split between my wife's younger brother (and his family) and my Sister-in-law (and her family). My Sister-in-law and her husband have worked hard to build a decent and prosperous life for themselves and their daughter and the younger brother (and mainly his daughters) are jealous of them. That's ALL it amounts to! ::)

Chris, I didn't mean to seem like I was trying to take anything away from your situation and I hope it didn't sound like it. You take care. ;)

No worries man. I was using my experience as an example of two different extremes when it came to the way the families delt with the loss. On one hand Vince understood that i was the one that was closest to our father in the end so he didnt have a problem with the way things were split. on the other hand when Kim died it took a lot of time trying to make her exes understand that her old bike was not for sale and never would be. Last i heard both my old CBR 900 and her CBR 600 are actually both parked in the familys living room at their current residence. Her father took the time to properly drain the fluids and everything from both machines. But they wanted to see both machines together for as long as possable. Given that kims bike was redone as a mini replica of my 900 before i gave it to her. I used a lot of the 900s spare parts to achieve such a look i can fully understand why. Her pickup is another example of one vehicle that will never be fired again nor will it be sold. Her family has held onto these items to remember her by as well as remember the life she had with me by having my 900....Ok i got off onto a tangent there..sorry man. Thinking back on this reminded me how much of a fight that her family and i had trying to keep certian things in the family.

I'm sorry Outy, who was Kim? She sounds like a great gal, we need more chicks who ride bikes and drive pickups, so I'm sorry to hear of her passing. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Kim was my fiancée.  She passed away on new years day 02. She was killed by a drunk driver who plowed into her car at over 120 mph with a ford superduty. The truck she had is a 1990 GMC S15 Syclone that was put together for autocross racing. But she was driving her 95 Neon ACR coupe at the time of the accident..she didnt even have a chance..

Chris, I have to say that it sure seems like your meeting Kim AND her parents was TRULY a blessing! I can't begin to tell you how much it saddens me that her life and the life the 2 of you would have had, were taken away so tragically. My prayers are with You and her family especially during this time of year. I don't know how many could get up and keep on going the way You have. What a Strong willed person you must be.

                                    Later on, Bill :) ;)

Well my Wife is the Exec of her Mothers will, which pissed off her useless Brother, who was removed from the position. He  been more civil to us since then. I know that her Brother and Sister are sitting on a branch waiting to divy up the profits of the House. Well I made his day when I explained that if the old girl winds up n a Nursing home, our Medicare system will strip all her assets which includes the home. I wanted to make his day, so I told him that on Tuesday. I can imagine the fist fight when the day comes.
