Nothing wrong with being a skeptic. Just make sure everything is exactly how your dad wants it and cover your ass. As long as your intentions are true you cannot fail my man.

Besides.... after all this they don't deserve anything. Any person in their right mind (including a judge) can see that. And if the judge cannot see things your way let me talk to him.... ;D

Good luck to you and your dad!! We are all pulling for you!!

Just got back from Little Rock and David was a NO SHOW! ::) :P  Big surprise!  Up here in the Fort Smith area, they were predicting freezing rain to start around midnight Sunday night. So, we went down Sunday evening (left here about 6PM) and stayed in a motel. ;) Also, I checked the weather bug for Little Rock AND the Perryville Areas and those 2 were not supposed to have he freezing part til sometime Tuesday. ;D  We went, had a good time, had a good meal at Denny's (Grand Slam, Dad's favorite and the waitress who used to wait on my Mom & Dad) Nobody showed! We went by my Dad's place, to check for any attempted entry and pick up a few things for him (everything was fine). On the way out, we went by where David & Jan live and the were there, along with my Dad's Van (they'd never even moved it ::) ). Also, on my way out of Little Rock, I went by the Lawyer's Office to let him know what happened (or, in this case, what DIDN'T happen). As we were leaving Denney's parking lot, I called my wife to let her know and to let her know that we were starting back and she let me know that the weather was predicted to get bad up here, with freezing rain and ice accumulations. ::) Just what I needed.  Well, we made it back okay and I'll get with the Lawyer to see about when he wants to see us about the details of the lawsuit that's supposed to happen on this Friday.

That's about all I've got for now,  Bill ;)

Well Bill, I suspect that in this instance no news is good news. I mean the judge has to look unfavourably on the fact that they missed 2 appointments. I mean if they can't be relied upon to make it to 2 different appointments that they tried to set up and picked the time/place (or at least I believe they did) then how could they possibly be reliable to look after HIS needs???? I would be more than willing to point that out to the judge if I was you! Not to mention that if he is so bad off (as they are trying to make people believe) wouldn't they offer to make the trip up your way for the meeting??? It is all about how you spin these details (and in this case it doesn't take much spinning at all!!!)

Why the motel Bill? I assumed you guys would crash at your dad's place...or was it to avoid a possible unscheduled meeting with S&S?

Dennis, The fact that they (actually just David, Dad doesn't not even want to SEE her) didn't show up to either of the 2 meetings that were requested by them, isn't real good for sire. Thing is thought, WE actually set the conditions, the where AND the when. We didn't want them (or him) up here to get any idea about where Dad actually is. It would not be beyond them to sneak up here and pull some crap! No, WE actually set the place as the Denney's where my parents ate fairly often (after I joined the Air Force in 66') and wanted it to take place on a public place in an attempt to keep them from getting any ideas about pulling any stupid stunts. But, like you said, he had TWO chances and blew them. Apparently they think that they can just do things the way they want and others should just accept that and that's BULL!

The motel was for 2 reasons: I do not want my Dad to be there and take the chance of running into Them and getting him all flustered, he's got an anuryism on the aorta in the stomach area and Doctors won't even think about operating because they don't think that my Dad would come out of it. So I don't need him to get stirred up and cause that thing to start leaking or burst. :( Plus, I wanted us to be close by so we could easily just get up, get dressed and pop over there, order, eat, pay for the food and be ready to leave in the event that he showed up and caused a stir or if he AND she showed up. Also, just to be on the safe side, I asked a buddy along for "insurance" to assist, if David (and maybe his wife) showed and tried anything stupid! I tried to cover all the bases because, with THEM loosing ALL their means of having money and that place on the lake, I wouldn't put anything past them. >:(

Dad's Lawyer is getting ready to lower the boom on them, in that Court Room and has as much as told their Lawyer so! So, now it's "THREE DAYS AND A WAKEUP!!!!!!!! Unless they Wake Up pretty quick! ::)

BTW Guys, I showed my Dad the pictures that okie had sent on a CD to me from the Barber's Event with photos of ALL THOSE MOTORCYCLES! AND he is READY to go there the next time (which Gordon/Ilbikes, tells me is in Oct. SO, IF ALL GOES WELL, We'll be there for THAT one. I'll start updating, when we get fairly close to the date. ;)

Sorry Bill I must have missed the details portion in terms of the arrangements. I knew the meeting was obviously at their request but missed that you guys had set up the location etc.

Also, I am sorry I missed the part about your dad's aorta. I am all to familiar with that one (father in-law) but in his case it wasn't caught until it ruptured. At least they know about it and can take some precautions.

Keep your head up and keep us in the loop of any last minute updates...

Not a problem here Dennis! If I seemed a bit uptight or something, it'll be ME who should apologize. I had no intention of making you feel bad, shoot, I'm tickled that we've got all the support from you all and would never intentionally come down on anyone like that.

Don't give it another thought Bill. That wasn't the impression you gave just surprised myself that I missed it given that I check in on this thread routinely.

Oh and Sam....Bill can't give him what they deserve or he'd be doing time afterwards  ;) Let's just hope that Karma bites them in the rear!

Gotta get this taken care of and keep my Dad from having his way. He wants to take a gun and go get his property! :o  I quickly tell him that it would get him in a place that I couldn't get him out of on occasion. ::) ;D  He then tells me that I'm no fun. ::)
The friend who went with us, says that he really enjoys MY company, he enjoys my Dad also and he REALLY gets a kick out of my Dad aggravating me. ::) ;)   Hey, I figure that if my Dad feels like aggravating me, then he's feeling pretty darn good, and that's cool with me. 8) ;)  BTW, "Agravating" seems to be a family trait or something. :D My Dad does it, my Granddad did it and there's no telling just how far back it goes. :)

Also, After I got my Dad back to his apartment this afternoon, he told me several times that he really enjoyed the trip down, the company, the meal at Denney's and thanked me several times. I simply told him that I am really glad that he enjoyed himself because, That's what it's all about! 8) ;)    Can this smiley  :'( also be tears of joy, cause I've got em'

Dad also said that, now, if only David would have done what he was supposed to have done. >:(

Whoa nelly! I go away for a while, and pick up on the great progress since! Your dad is in assisted living. Wooo hooo! It was great catching up; it read like a novel. The image of your dad in an assisted living place is one I'm sure we all cherish. Plus, as I understand it, he's getting around better. Is he still on a mobility upswing?

Bill, you've displayed great discipline, care and steadfastness in the face of constant trials. You are an example for me. I don't know what else to say.

I'll be praying that the hearing goes as smoothly as possible.

And oh, thanks for serving.

Thank you Burma, I'll tell you that when I first got him accepted for rehabilitation, he (My Dad) gave me some some pretty hard times for the next 3 times I would come into the room to see him. The 1st 2 times the episodes were short and then he was okay AND THEN, the 3rd time was a LU LU! He was doing some Word Search, he laid the book and his pen down and got down on my case about why he was there, he didn't know that he was coming there and he didn't need anything that they were doing (said they weren't doing much anyway). I mean he was reading me the  "Riot Act". I mean, he really Blind Sided" me! I was just stunned and got mad and was silent for a bit and then told him that I needed to go and I left. That was in the afternoon and I usually went back in the evening, but not thus time. I stayed home that evening and went back in the next day. I was trying to be prepared for another possible round and I was so pleasantly surprised to be greeted in the "normal easy going appreciative way" that he'd done for the last few months while I was whittling away at getting David and Jan out of everything just like my Dad wanted. I was just SO relieved, I just don't think I could have handled "another round" When I went to take him out of the Rehab and to the Assisted Living apartment, he acted like he was going to start up again and (even though I was already stressed trying to find a place that had a Vacancy and accepted folks that had to have a "Thickener" added to their drink and finally found one that I felt comfortable with (the original one that is near us, didn't have any vacancies) and he was a bit testy about that one because he had to get to the dinning room with a walker and not a wheelchair. But, he seems to have fitted in and is showing his appreciation in a very nice way. 8) We've got that Guardianship Lawsuit Friday, the Lawyer wants to see us before that to prep for the thing and I don't know about my Dad, but I'm a nervous wreck. :-\  I just want this thing over with for my Dad's sake AND for us! I'm just needing to back off and get some slack time for a bit! ::)

I can promise you Bill come Friday I'll be thinking of and praying for you guys.

I think it's safe to say your dad has developed a bit of a fan club here... you too.

As the kiddies say gotta give "props" for the good guy! Frankly, I don know if I said that right. ???

And, I thought a prop was something that got airplanes off the ground. :-[

Anyway, good luck!

Geesh, Bill, don't do that!  You changed the title and I thought 'uh, oh; Bill's started a new thread for the final chapter.'  I started reading from the beginning and got a bit of a fright before I realized I'd seen this somewhere before, word for word, and then checked the dates on the posts!  ::)

Oh, yeah; and we are definitely all praying and pulling for you guys!  ;D

Bill, you've displayed great discipline, care and steadfastness in the face of constant trials. You are an example for me. I don't know what else to say.

no one could've said it better,  good luck on friday Bill  ...though i'm (we're) sure you won't need it

My Dad AND I sure do appreciate the support that we are getting from you all. Words can not really express the feeling that I get when I read the replies here AND thing about the previous ones also. I have to tell you all that, I called the Lawyer today, to find out what our next step was (you see, he wanted to see us before the actual hearing). Well, when he called me back later this afternoon, he told me that he contacted their Lawyer and said their Lawyer said "$@$^%&*()^%&&%" (He didn't tell me the exact word, just that it was a Cuss word), when our Lawyer told him  that David did not show! Their Lawyer was pretty (shall we say) TICKED OFF". Come to find out, their Lawyer has been trying to convince THEM that they are fighting a Losing Battle, but they won't listen to him. Big Surprise! ::) He also told our Lawyer that he has never had any 2 people who were so uncontrollable, they Will Not Listen To Him! ::) He was really aggravated that David did not show for the 'meeting". Even HE was hoping that David would see that My Dad is being taken care of properly and that David would "Let It Go!" But, as my Dad said, "They are TOO Greedy!" Then I added, and "Too Stupid!"  >:( Anyway, we go back down to Little Rock Thursday Evening, meet with the Lawyer Friday morning at 8:30 to go over things and then, it's "Showtime!" Our Lawyer is going after them to pay "All the court costs and the Lawyer fees!" While we were in Little Rock Monday, my Dad told me that it wouldn't bother him to NEVER see David again, because he is no longer a member of this family! Now, on one side, That is really a SAD thing, but on the OTHER side, David has MORE than deserved being thought of like that! Like I have said before, I knew there would be some problem, but I never expected him to go this far (or allow a wife of his to go this far either)! Okay, I started out to let you all know what I found out today and, next thing I know, I'm on a rant! This is getting to me. :(

Before I go, I want to thank all for the Prayers, thoughts,
suggestions and support, it means the world to us (especially me ;) )
