Yeah fuzzy, it sure does. Thing is, at least now, the most we should have to deal with should be whatever medical things pop up. Of course we still have to go through getting his stuff back AND getting them out of that house. Here's hoping that we can get through this and get to where I can get him out and help him to enjoy life, while he still has it. Gotta tell you all, it sure does help to have a place to talk about all this. Sometimes, I really need to let go or maybe just let my thoughts out and (at times) I end up talking to myself because others are preoccupied elsewhere.

                                Thank You, Bill

Thank you Mordechai, Every chance I get, I bring up the fact that you all are Praying for him and wishing him well. This ALWAYS brings a smile and a comment like, "There ARE some good folks left" And I reassure him that there sure are. ;) And we're VERY Thankful!
once we get THIS issue settled done, hopefully, we'll be able to get him even more so back into a regular life (or, at least, as regular of a life as possible).

Thank you for being there,  Bill ;)

Well, just got home about 5:45AM, Dad is doing well. They have switched him over to insulin and monitoring him with the possibility of releasing him in a couple of days (Saturday or Sunday?) Had to come back home to take care of a few things, take my Daughter to work and go back up there. Dad was pleased and comforted when I told him yesterday that I would be staying the night with him. Hopefully, we'll be getting him out of there this weekend sometime. He's really anxious to get out of there (he DOES NOT like Hospital food and that's understandable).

Thank you ALL for your support, Bill ;)

Depends on the Hospital, lolol. Marin General in Marin County California, a Sutter Health Hospital, has great food. I've spent enough times in hospitals that for the most part you guys are right, but if you ever get hurt is Marin, This is the place to go for good grub, lol.

Been there and done that Jeff. ;) It would not have bothered me if you HAD hijacked the thread some though. Isn't it up to me to decide if this one had been hijacked? ;D Take care guy.

BTW all, I had gotten my Dad home yesterday, after a trip to Denney's for his favorite meal (the Grand Slam), we meet with the Home Health nurse and got him set up to get his insulin shots and blood sugar checking. I went by later to make sure he was doing well.....and he was!  I checked back with him today and all is well. I also checked with the folks where his apartment is and he is responded when told that it is mealtime, no matter when it is and they said it sure was good to see him back on track and doing so well. I may be speaking too soon, but he is seeming to get the idea that he is going to require services that just don't really allow for him being at his home by himself. He really concerns me though. I mean he has Congestive Heart Failure, Some Kidney Disease, Some Emphysema, he's a diabetic (using insulin now), his memory is not good, his hearing isn't good either (thinking about whether to suggest an ear specialist or not, maybe not. might be a bit too much for him to handle).

But, for now, he seems to be doing well and, if nothing happens, he and I will be heading out to "okie's" place Tuesday morning and see about picking up some Super Hawk Parts. My Dad is really looking forward to the "outing".  8) ;)

I know Bill, but this is an important thread, both for you and those of us who consider you a friend. The very last thing I want to do is detract from everything this thread stands for and everything we see happen with you and your Family.

I know I speak for the vast majority here that every one of us would be right there to help in any way if it were possible. I read it as often as possible and rejoice when things go well for your Dad. I also feel bad when things get tough and wish there was something I could do to help besides commiserate.

I will not disrespect you, your Dad, or the rest of the people here by doing that.

Keep the faith as we all do and we'll see you soon, lol.

Hey Jeff, I DO appreciate what you are saying and I DEFINITELY appreciate the Support and such form ALL of you all. I just don't want to be thought to be irate because of a little deviation now and then. I do it sometimes myself and without realizing, but not on purpose.

Since I am here now, just like you all to know that everything is going well with my Dad AND we should not have ANY trouble heading out to "okie's" place in the morning. ;) The ladies at the "Assisted Living Place say that he is right back in the thick of things, as if nothing had happened. 8) ;) Now, if we can just keep it that way. ::)

Take care All, I really appreciate ALL of you,  Bill ;)

Thanks Dennis, I'm hoping to give my Dad a nice trip, see some different scenery, meet up with Larry (okie), pick up that Super Hawk stuff, take Dad somewhere nice to eat (that'll make his day as well! ;) Dad's been doing real good and since he's on insulin now, hopefully, we won't be having any "blood sugar" issues.

Thank you Sam, he's had some blood sugar problems and also some infections in his lungs and was on the verge of getting pneumonia again. But, hopefully, he's back on the mend again. He's been doing pretty well since this last hospital trip. ;) He's feeling pretty good AND he's up and ready to make that trip to Oklahoma to pickup those Super Hawk parts. 8) That old 250 Jawa is gonna represent his LAST build AND my First Honda (not much difference between the CB72 & the CB77 and the Super Hawk was what I was looking for when I found the Hawk). ;) ;)

Good knowing that we've got so much support here (I've told my Dad that we've got support from folks from ALL over the world,

Everything went well on the trip to "okie"s today. Got a bit of a late start and had a "run-in" with the woman who is the administrator of the Assisted Living place where my Dad's apartment is. She had something that she wanted to talk to me about this morning and I had absolutely NO TIME. I needed to get my Dad, make sure I had the things that he might need and SHE wanted to talk! ::) I finally had to just tell her she could talk later, I had to go! Anyway, I was only checking to see if we needed to take any meds with us. >:(

Besides that, Dad and I had a real nice trip out and back. Visited with Larry for a bit, picked up a bunch of Super Hawk stuff, stopped by an Applebee's for lunch and returned to Arkansas. I am so relieved that he enjoyed himself and felt pretty good today, because when I went to pick him up, he was still in bed, hadn't gone for breakfast and was just slow about getting up this morning. He said he felt okay though and wanted to go. So, I helped him dress and we got out of there and got under way. ;)

Well, I went to get my Dad to take him to the doctor for a followup and he's doing well. The doctor is doing some (what I'd call) some "fine tuning", and (as usual) we followed up with a trip to Denney's for lunch.

I had sent a list to the Lawyer about the things that I knew of, that should be returned. Got a letter back from the Lawyer saying that we needed to put in specifics, like VIN's of the truck and the van, details about the billfold and such as that. I haven't told my Dad about this latest letter. About the only things I can supply specifics for, are the van, the truck and the billfold and contents. There was also an original letter written by a relative (cousin, I think) who was a drummer boy in the Civil War and I'm sure that David has that. I'm supposed to tell the date it was written AND the name of who wrote it. I figured that on particular things like that and the 2 swords (one was a fencing sword), you wouldn't need much identifying since they weren't things that most people would just happen to have. I'm supposed to be able to tell who made the swords. I don't know AND Dad doesn't remember things like that. One thing about it though, there are things still at my Dad's, that David was supposed to get when the time came (like an antique metal lathe, 1930's - 1940's) that will come to me instead. It's just the idea that he's gotten those things from my Dad
and won't return them, on his own. Yeah, he's gotten those things that we can't prove are my Dad's, but he's LOST something more important than any material thing (in MY book) and that is my Dad's Love and Respect (hurting my Dad deeply while doing it >:( ) On top of all that, the time is growing short on his being in that house and he will have to move everything out of there and to a new location. Well, I guess I've gone on enough. So, I'll get on out of here and go rest up for tomorrow's outings (seems like there are several to be mad everyday, for somebody. My poor old Grand Caravan (a 2006) has already gotten up to 87,8?? miles and my body feels like more than that!

                             Take care all, Bill ;)

Sometimes I wonder if I need to re-title this thread,

        "My Dad's Situation, Will I Survive?"  ::)

Bill, I wonder if you have any old photos of the swords, letters, etc.  Even if not "just" of them, think outside the box.  Did the swords hang on a wall?  Would they be in the background of any "people" pictures?

In the end though, just remember that they only have "stuff".  You have your dad.  Nothing else matters.

But still stick it to 'em as much as you can.    >:(
