Amen to that :-) A bunch of us would like to meet up your way Bill. What about planning something for later this summer? Mark it up on the calendar, eh? We are so very eager to meet your pop, and it sounds that he'd be up for a meeting, too.

That would be just Great, Paul, as I'd like to meet up with You as well!  Fact is, there a several out there in your approximate area that I'd like to physically meet up with and I'm hoping that Late this Summer, to get my Dad out to California to see a couple of Cousins (around his age) that he (and I) haven't seen in quite some time. Maybe we could swing up around the area and meet up. Just have to see how it goes.

You take care of that Sister of yours (and yourself)
and I'll catch you later on,  Bill ;)

Hey Will, I AM going to work on getting my Dad out to California to meet up with his Cousins later in the Summer and ALSO am going to try to get him down to the Barber Museum in Oct. Not sure about anything else just yet. I sure would like to meet up with a big number of you all and especially for my Dad to actually see the folks who have been so supportive in this whole thing.

Of course, we're still going after the possessions AND "The Eviction" and there's no telling just how long that will play out. I'll do the best I can, at trying to arrange to meet up with you all uwever I can. 8) ;)

Bill, I was thinking mebbe a few of us might like to descend your way. It's a matter of making the time for me. I have bike trip planned that I'm not really keen on, so I would trade that for a trip your way if others might go. It'd be a hoot. We'd all get to go to Denny's and meet your dad's favorite waitress. ;-)

Will, Dad's favorite waitress (that used to wait on my Mom and Dad, since back in the late 1960's) is set to retire this Summer and her last working day is supposed to be Aug 27, 09. She informed my Dad and me about her upcoming retirement and the need for us to make as many trips down to Little Rock, to that Denney's, that we could before she retires. If you all could set it up to be there by the 27th of Aug (at the latest), you all could meet her. Let's see what happens. ;)

Hey Fuzzy (guest), are you looking to go to a specific event? I take it that this is the Barber you mean??? http://www.barbermotorsports.com/events.php

Bill, it'd be cool to see your dad's favorite waitress, but of course, it's you and your dad we want to meet. I'll start working on a date and then start a new thread, possibly a poll. :-) It's Arkansas, right Bill? What region of the state? Man, oh man would it be cool to meet up with you and some of the members of this thread.

Besides, I'm looking for an excuse to avoid my family reunion. I love my family, but just not all at once. ;-)

Will, I've been kinda anxious to actually meet up with some of you all anyway and so far I've seen "okie" face to face, and now he's gone. :(   Hope that's not a sign.

Yeah, it's Arkansas. I actually live in the Western Central part, but we could meet in Little Rock, if that would work out better.

Just remembered, time is slipping by, and I still haven't manged to set up a meering with John (jtb) to get that Jawa engine. :-[ ::)  Time Flies----- Whether you're having fun   or not!

Well Folks, My Dad, a buddy and I made a little trip down to a small Town (in the area of where my Dad's place is
and with a "Tow Dolly" attached to the rear of my van) named Bigelow. I was prepared to get the Sheriff to assist us in getting my Dad's Dodge Dakota, but the guy who operates the garage where the truck was, was very pleseant to deal with. He even assisted in getting things together so we could get on out of there. Needless to say, my Dad's Dodge Dakota is sitting in my front yard by the driveway. Now, to get it back in shape. Soon as I can get a tranfer for it (David blew the transfer a couple of years ago), I'll have that sucker going. We're getting closer!

I'm confused.  Is Bigelow the name of the town, the buddy, or the towbar? ;D ;D ;D

So I wonder what a transfer case costs.  And congratulations.  One more step closer in getting all your Dad's stuff back.

Sorry about that.  Bigelow is the name of the small town. ::)

Not sure about the cost of the transfer. I think I'm gonna check arounf here for a possible "used" replacement  vs   a rebuild. The truck has a bit over 100K in mileage now. It's a 93' and, if my Dad would have been the main one to drive it, it would probably only have around 35 - 40K (and that's a BIG maybe).

Thanks, I'm really wired to have gotten that truck up here, without a hassle. I have to say that, occassionally, I need some reassurance myself. :-\

It'd been a VERY long day and i just figured thst my brain was fried.

BTW, got my Dad's truck over to a shop here in Greenwood, to get it checked out (I'm just not up to a bunch of gettin up and down to work on that sucker. I've already found out that there is nothing wrong with the "Transfer" (it was taken apart needlessly) David had said that the transfer was blown. Seems the overdrive unit in the trans, is bad and we should have the truck back in about 2 - 3 days. Can't wait to ask Dad if he'd like to go for a ride in HIS truck!

Ha! Ha! Don' EVEN have to be concerned about that. My time (on a day by day basis) is so limited, I could n't fit much else in, even if I wanted to.

Kinda wondering if David has gotten word that we came down and got the truck?

Ha! :D Ha! ;D Yeah, that would be something. 8)

BTW, when I went to see my Dad this evening, I let him know that David (who thinks he knows everything) misdiagnosed the problem with the truck and that it should be ready in a few days. He is QUITE pleased, to say the least! ;) Makes me feel good to be able to show him more evidence that this is getting closer to being over.

Gonna be good to get the old Dakota back on the road again. Got a few "cosmetic things that I want to replace on it, to try to keep it  from having that "David Abused It" look.

I think the overdrive went bad. That's easier and cheaper to fix.

Good on ya, Bill. It's too bad they put so many miles on it but it'll hold up just fine with some decent maintenance.
