Couple questions.
1. "Berryman"? I would think after all the talk in carb threads that you'd use Sea Foam.
2. Is there a decent junkyard out there?
3. More of a comment here. That heater core is probably fixed with the Stop Leak. But if not, it is cheaper if you remove it and take it to a radiator shop for soldering.
Glad your Dad is feeling well enough to attempt bovine birth.
Hope he wasn't too hard on you.
#1 I had completely forgotten about the Sea Foam and wanted to get started on getting that "old" gas taken care of soon as possible. I've had pretty good results out of the Berryman and so, that's what I got. Does Wal Mart carry that? O don't remember seeing it,
because if I had seen it, it might have jogged my memory (Maybe?)
#2 Yeah, we've got a few pretty good junk yards in the area and I used one of them a few years ago, when I got in a financial bind and had to pickup on an old 88' GMC Safari minivan that had a few things wrong with it. PO hadn't taken very good care of it. I fixed it up pretty good though and swapped it off after a bit of time. I still see it now and then.
#3 Yeah, i've been the route with stopleak before and had good luck with it. We've got a good (and reasonable) radiatior shop nearby, if it comes to that.
When I 1st drove the Dakota, I wasn't too enthused about it and considered seeing if my Dad would trade it in for a later model, with more comfortable seats (for one thing). But, I have driven it a bit more and, after getting a "go ahead" (from my Dad) to do some work on it and replace that seat (if I can get a suitable replacement
for a fairly decent price, I am learnig to like the old thing.

Now, don't get the idea that the age of the truck has anything to do with my feeling of the truck because it's not that. Sure be glad when I can get the Tires & front end alignment taken care of, to make it more pleasant to drive.
