Well, I Didn't Almost Hit Anything But.........................
« on: September 01, 2007, 06:48:01 PM »

        Here's how it went:

Got a trailer hitch installed on my van on Weds, Rented  a Uhaul trailer Saturday and headed down to my Dad's to pick up 3 motorcycles from him (my 400F that I took him to work on and a 77'CB750A that he bought to fix up along with a 79' CB750K basket case). On the way down, as I was coming a round a curve, I saw that something didn't seem right on up the road a bit. As I got closer, I saw that a Chevy truck w/ a car trailer and a car were laying twisted and mangled on the side of the road. I started imagining the worst, of course and was preparing myself to deal with and try to help out in any possible way. :-\  There were 2 guys standing between the wreckage and the highway and another vehicle was pulled over on the other side of the road. I stopped and asked if everyone was alright and the guy who had already stopped said that this guy (the other guy standing there) was the driver and he was fine. The driver simply said that it was a Miracle that he was okay and I said that's the truth! And with that, we said good bye and left. For a few minutes there, I could visualize that happening to me and I had my Daughter and Joey (one of the young men we work with) with me. So proud that that guy wasn't hurt and, also that we made our trip without incident.

I realize that I wasn't on a bike, but felt like the story should be told.

                                    Later on, Bill

Well, It wasn't as bad with those because the 400f was actually mine anyway but she probably DID think it was gone for good, when it left the first time. ::) Also, knowing just how things have been going with my brother and my Dad, she wasn't as antsy about it. ;D Now, last week was a different story. You see, I picked up on (for the most part) 3 SL350 Hondas and one is a 69' SL350K0 (even though it is completely torn down). I'll have to say that she wasn't too excited about that! ::) ;D I had a bit of an edge there too, she wanted some stuff done and backed off some (not all the way though ::))

At any rate, I was sure glad that we (my daughter, a friend & myself) had gotten off a little later than planned or we might have been right in the middle of that wreck. :-\

A cop stopped at our house yesterday.  I walked out like the white trash I am in a holey T-shirt, baggy blue plaid jams, incredibly ugly-mangled chicken legs, and bare feet.  Oh- and I hadn't shaved yet.  He stopped by to say he thought our front porch was a fire hazzard.
I told him if we burned up, the neighbors would probably be relieved.
Did not even move his face one iota.  Dead man walking.

There's a million stories that need to be shared.
Slice of life.  Here hon- get you a piece.

My father used to call that phenominology.  He was a big-shot psychologist.  Recounting stories like that give life, and the events therein, meaning.  Meaning gives them value.

Thanks Mr Bill.

Hahahahahahahahaha

I first thought you were referring to my father!

Police scare the hell out of me.  I would have layed down on my face for the cuffs if he said to.  If they don't like the way you comb your hair, you're in for it bad.  (I read that somewhere)

So what was so hazardous about your front porch Ernie? Were you storing gasoline and white phos grenades there? :D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

My wife brings this stuff home.  It's all in approved containers and on pallets- that's all I know.  Some have attractive red designs.  I never thought to ask her...  Maybe it was all the old rags she uses to keep the dust off of them?
