engine rebuild help-cb400f
« on: August 22, 2007, 10:32:00 PM »
Hello im in the process of rebuilding my 400/4 engine, I was putting my oil pump back in the case and i went to get to proper new o rings from my athena rebuild kit and i could not find them. there are two small dowel o rings, 2 medium sized dowel o rings and one larger for the pump body. should these be included in a rebuild kit or do i need to go buy them separately? thanks!

Not all kits have every thing you need.  Always a good idea to have a supply of metric O-rings on hand.

you ever use the cheap ones from HF?
I've been thinking of ordering some of these... I don't understand the size codes though, P3-P9,? ??? G45?  ???

Nice set.  I got a small set from Auto Zone.

I do not know what the size codes are.  I'll bet TT does.  He seems to know most things if not all.

If you look in the parts book the 'O' rings are listed with their size, go to an engineering store they should be able to supply/order the correct seal for you.
