Howdy!
« on: August 24, 2007, 11:51:02 AM »
Hi all -

I don't own a Honda SOHC/4 bike, but my brother is an avid enthusiast and a member here (kghost), and he invited me to join these forums, even though I ride a Kawasaki.

My first bike was a Honda 100... way back around 1984 to 1985 or so.  My brother and I saved up our summer lawn-mowing wages and bought it together.  We rode that little Honda just about anywhere you can imagine around our little South Texas town.  We didn't have drivers licenses but it didn't really matter back in those days, I guess.

I hadn't owned a bike or ridden in a number of years, and this past July I took the MSF course held at Northern Illinois University to get a refresher.  The week after the class I hit the DMV for my license upgrade, then started shopping for something to ride.  I found a 2002 Vulcan 800A on Craigslist with only 1977 miles on it, drove out and looked at it and made the guy an offer.  Well now I have put another 1200 miles on it in 1 month and it sure feels good to be back on a bike!

So anywho... hello to everyone.  Thanks for the invite, Tim.  Cheers!

I'm going to be down in Texas this Christmas, I'll get a close look at Tim's SOHC machines then.  Who knows?  :)  I gotta get my wife into that MSF course so I can convince her more easily that I need multiple bikes!  Ha HA!

The wheelie king?  That'd be my brother, f'sure.
