Hot Honda H2O cooled
« on: August 29, 2007, 11:46:13 AM »
Friend has 84 Honda V45 (I think 45) overheating. Any help. I told him radiators were a fad.
Thanks.

Check (in this order)

1. Coolant level (don't ask...)
2. Thermostat
3. Pump

There's not a lot else to go wrong.

Is the fan turning on? I know the v45's of that era had fan switches that turned on too late to matter. There is a ton of info on the web about  modding them with a switch to turn them on sooner. Also, the thermostats were sub par. The list above is a good check, but the cooling system is known to be really inadequate.

I have yet to find any info for adding a switch to the V4 bikes...mind you i havent really been looking that hard just yet...but a better question is which model of V45 is it...The Magna, The Sabre or The Interceptor?
