61mm bore CB550
« on: July 09, 2005, 04:22:33 PM »
I just read the "Gentleman's Express" article on this site, I think putting CB750 pistons in my CB550 would be an excellent project, as my uncle and grandfather are both machinists and have all the goddies to modify the pistons for me. From what i understand I shouldnt need to get oversized sleeves, right? Because the CB750 pistons have a 2.5 mm diameter increase over the CB550 pistons and you should be able to bore out the cylinder 3 mm without getting new sleeves. Well thats how it was on the CB360. So, my question, would I have to get oversized sleeves? Also, How much compression would I have using the CB750K model piston and how much using the CB750F model piston?
 Thanks

Nobody knows what the CR would be using either piston?
