If FB lives in the US, can't you just get his number and phone him? Anyone checked the obituaries column?
I dropped a fender and a couple of rims off my CB350F resto project in to the local chrome plater 10 years ago, he was a nice guy, a Vietnam vet who ran the business on his own, anyway, he told me to come back in a couple of days and I did, but the shop was closed?
Hmmnnnn, I went back the next day, but it was still closed. "Uh-oh", I thought, "this guys flown the coop"! The following week I went back and there was a little asian woman there on her own cleaning up, I asked her where John was, and she told me he'd had a heart attack and dropped dead the day after I dropped my stuff off?
Anyway, we fished the fender and rims out of the "dechroming bath" (and she still charged me 50 bucks for that phase of the plating service) and I took it to another plater who finished the job that John started before his untimely demise.
I hope FB hasn't suffered a similar fate, but then again, if he hasn't, and RM gets a hold of him, he'll probably wish he had, ha ha! Cheers, Terry.
