1970 CB750KO carb slide question
« on: September 03, 2007, 05:30:50 PM »
1970 CB750KO - Is there a difference in the size of the carb slides between slides 1,2,3,4?  In other words, does it make a big difference which slide goes in which carb once you take all the slides out for cleaning? The reason I ask is I completely cleaned all 4 carbs when I got the bike (that had not been run since 1990) and was careful putting everything back in the same carb, but I am having trouble keeping the idle unless I do it manually. There is a chance that I switched slides 1 & 2 around.  I have checked the points, timing, and tried the sync but not able to get them all together with the sync. The bike runs perfect except for the idle.
Thanks

They are paired; 1 and 2 identical; 3 and 4 identical. If you put a #1 or 2 on a #3 or 4 slide cutaways goes in backwards on at least 2 cylinders and bike runs EXTREMELY LOUSY, like it will never warm-up.
How do I know that? Duh.
