cb750 neck
« on: September 09, 2007, 05:54:37 PM »
I am working on a new-to-me 1978 CB750K. It seems to start and run good (even with a leaking head gasket), but it was stored outside and all chrome pieces are spot-rusting. I will be overhauling this thing, but have a few questions:

I am interested in slightly increasing the rake of the frontend without cutting the neck. As I understand I could get a raked tripple tree, with up to additional 5-7 degrees. Are there are any disadvantages to using such a trippletree instead of cutting the frame? Wobbles or anything?

The only raked tripple trees I found so far are for Harleys with 1" neck and 41" tubes. What are the specs on our bikes? Could anything be modified on the above kits? Is there a source of raked tripple trees designed for hondas? Thanx
