350G or 350F?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of both?  Which one will be more collectible?  I have both (73's), although the 350F needs some work to get running again and I was thinking of ditching it to focus on my nicely running G.  The F is has 1300 miles on it and i would love to cafe/restore it, but I'm thinking the G is a better(faster/lighter) bike to cafe.

      Shame you can't just keep both. I mean, the 350G is a nice bike and all. It would be good for around town and maybe some short trips.  While the 350F should be nice to ride in about any situation but, I would think it would be more suited to the highway than the 350G. To me, you have bikes that are good representatives for both kinds of riding. Just my opinion but, I'm thinking that the 350F would be more collectible. Of course, if you have to get rid of one, you will be the one that will ultimately have to decide.

I'll through my two cents in, The 350F is notoriously smooth where as the twins tend to shake a little. On long trips you will apreciate a vibration free ride.  ;)
Now some say the 350 twin is lighter and more powerfull than its four cylinder counter part but where talking a few pounds here and maybe one or two horsepower there, not a big difference.
Also, I may be wrong, but I think between the two models, the four gets better mileage. Don't quote me on that one though.

        Most fours are smoother running and have less engine vibration, at least in the older bikes. Ever heard folks talk about the buzz in the handlebars? they wouldn't be talking about a four having that characteristic.

One of the reasons they stopped importing the F into the US is that it didn't perform any better than the any of the twins.  In looking at the magazine articles of the day, the top speed and 1/4 mile stats were virtually the same.  And the American market won't pay more for the F just because it's smoother.

And my opinion:  Any bike is more collectable if it is restored over a cafe mod.

The 350G was not one of Hondas better designs, UK had a 250 version for our learner laws and it gave quite a bit of trouble unless scrupilously serviced to schedule, the 350F never came to UK, only the 400 which seems to be the most sought after four
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
