Tintin's first ever ride on a bike made this century!
« on: September 04, 2007, 04:40:24 PM »
Today was the Ducati test ride at GP Bikes - got three bikes out with a couple of friends from work.  You can guess which one I grabbed ;)  We went out for about an hour this morning.

This is the first time I've ridden a bike less than 30 years old.  Needless to say I was stunned by the power, braking, handling etc.  With one finger I had more braking power at my disposal than I can muster on the '75 BMW using my grip of death.  At one stop early in the ride I locked the front wheel up for a thankfully very brief moment.

Don't let the photos fool you - we weren't relegated to a parking lot.  They sent the three of us out into the wild unattended - silly silly dealer.  Of course we were on the hook for damage caused by our negligence.  All damage was invisible - no redline marked on the clock - had to find the rev limiter the hard way ;)

Tons and tons of fun  ;D  Worth every penny of the $14,000 it costs.

I REALLY need to go test ride a Sport 1000S.  I've wanted one ever since they first came out and have been planning on getting one as soon as my car loan is paid off (which will be very soon)!  The problem is, there are other vehicle toys that I've wanted for much longer.  Like a '69 Karmann Ghia, or a Datsun 240Z, or even a 911, but the Ducati calls to me!! :-\ :-\

This may be a good place to post this.

I'm considering checking it out.  Hopefully I'll hate it because I really don't need another bike.   ;D

I have plans to pickup a used Sport classic in the next few years and chop the hell outta it. After riding my Monster for the past 2 months I am a Ducati fan thru and thru...

Something like this (with the ProTeal touch) is def. in my future --->

Mmmm-mnnn! I'll have one just like that one thanks, without the "Proteal touch"! :D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

My local dealer, who I got my Ducati From, recently dropped the dealership (last winter). He still has a couple '06 holdovers. One is the above bike with a price tag of $8,995. Currently the closest dealer is a three hour ride on the super-slab away, so no one wants to buy it. The only reason that it'ss not in my garage is that I cannot afford it... currently...  ;)

Needless to say I was stunned by the power, braking, handling etc.

And just think,  those aren't even the fast Ducatis.
