CB 750 badging as logos
« on: September 07, 2007, 03:37:34 PM »
Bee looking around for various sites for badging on my 75 750. Finally decided that since I am far from stock, I might as well save some money and replicate my badging with under clear logos instead. Been running tests on this concept. So far it lays out great and takes clear like a champ. Here is the rub. Cant find any super sport artwork and the side panel art work I need to make my own logos. Any ideas????? Open to all kinds of ideas, so throw them out

thats what i thought he meant, yes clearcoating over decals will work fine as long as its done carefully, the ink may still fade over time depending on the quality of the printer...

i use an epson pro photo printer, ink guarunteed to last 85 years under glass, so under waterproof, airtight clearcoat it should/could last longer

One possibility is to go with reproduction decals for the 400F.  I got some from www.afegraphics.com several years ago when repainting my 400F tank and they looked great under the clear coat.  They just have the large "HONDA" with "SuperSport" underneath, and I believe are available in a couple of different color schemes.

what paper do you use to make decals?
is there some type of paper to make waterslide decals?
do you have any pictures of the finished article.

Yes thats waht I am taliking about. Printing up some Honda badging onto water slide decal paper in lieu of traditional badging. I thought it might look good under a clear coat. I havent done this yet, but I did buy some decal "paper' and I will be running some tests. I just coul'nt find some "images" to print on it. Just fishing for something alittle diffrent. dont want to get lost in the crowd!! So any stock imaages would help.

there is a font here which contains the latest Honda wing, being a scaleable font using an art package you could produce a graphic of any size to print out.

Ironically the photographer doesnt have any pics yet...haha

my only concern would be whether or not you would have to laminate it before clearcoating it, depending on the cleatcoat, (laquer, enamel, whatever) the ink may run, I haven't tried it yes so i cant say for sure, thats why tests are best

I'll see what i can do over the weekend
