Yeah, but NO filters!  I just don't like the thought of sucking in dirt in to my engine....

I agree, mine only lasted 25 years with no filters... maybe I should have got 28??

And I ran it on dirt a few times with a sidehack, and down the odd dirt road..

You already have stacks inside a filter housing is this what you are trying to re-invent.

I should warn you any attempt at putting a filter on a stack unless it has a very large surface area usually wont work..

I've already gone over most of this.

I no longer have the stock airbox.
I know it has (very) short stacks in it.
Performance can be improved with the correct stack length.
The filter I'm looking at is K&N. It's big enough for an engine 3 times the size of ours.
I'm using a single filter to equalize vacuum between all intakes.
Yes, it's very similar to the stock design. Yes, I think it will be better, eventually.
Pods creat a series of problems.
I'm not worried about rain. The k&n will be oiled. Just like my Pods.
I do these kinds of things because I enjoy it.
I like my old bikes. I also like to make them faster than stock.
I'm doing other work to it over the winter, which will benefit from a well designed intake and filter setup.
If this works I'll be doing it on my 350f as well.
No.

Hi Mark, the ones I have are titanium and weigh just 10 grams each (1 1/2 ounces all 4).
Overall length is 50mm, internal bore is as near as I can measure 37mm and they flair to 43mm.
The section that goes over the carb is 10mm long, the section of reduced bore (to 37mm int) is 35mm long and the flair is 5mm.
They were made by a British Aerospace engineer who raced a CB750 back in the days, he made them the same as he used to run.
If you want them, PM me your address and they will be on their way at 7.30 in the morning.
