2007 season pictures
« on: September 09, 2007, 03:30:29 PM »
Project never ends... Engine rebuilt last winter (bottom end mostly, top end just refreshed with Hondamatic used cylinders&pistons and late K hemied head), awaiting big bore and ported head. Aluminum oil tank installed, electrics relocated, light bulbs changed to LEDs all around, changed Clubmans to superbike bars.

Looking good and I really like the hydraulic clutch. How does it handle? Very smooth? What shocks are they on the rear? Are they longer than stock?

cheers
Andy

Hi Mak, why did you use the Hondamatic pistons (7.7 to 1) ?  Along with the hemied head, I recon your compression ratio would be down to around 6 to 1.

Nice looking bike though.

2 neilyoung: Thank you.
2 andy750: I have heavy duty springs in clutch and it still handles good. Cannot say that it makes huge (but noticeable) difference betwin old and new setup though  ;D
Plus, you don't need to care much about it - it's selfadjustable;D  So far i like it. Shocks are 14" - got them from ebay. I removed black top covers and they look much better this way, maybe thats why you didn't recognise them - lots of people use them.
2 SamCR750:
I have set of TRW 811cc pistons but didn't find rings for them. I bored my old cylinders already and needed something for a season. Found set from Hondamatic... My old pistons were in bad shape, so i decided to use low compression ones ;D
Probably i can mix gas with donkey pee and my bike won't find any difference ;D ;D ;D
The main reason for that decision - i was broke last winter (just bought first house), hope to finish engine this year.
