best gasket???
« on: September 11, 2007, 01:48:55 PM »
Okay,i need to change the base gasket(the one under the head gasket) and i already bought  the base and head gasket from Cometic(i heard they were better than OEM).The first thing i would like to know is, would it be better the put some threebond(1104) sealer on the base gasket because i don't want to do this job to often ;D

Also,  i was wondering if the complete  gaskets kit from cycle Exchange is better than OEM?  ???

You can put it on dry, I used copper gasket spray.

Of all the parts I've bought, nothing beats original Honda quality.
Baja native.

I'll second the permatex copper spray.  Used it on (Versah) the Base, Head and Tappet cover gaskets.  1200 miles and no leaks yet!

I've been planning to buy a complete gasket set from Cycle Exchange.  I don't have any experience with any other brands but I've always heard that Honda makes the best ones.  I am just guessing by the looks of the site that the Cycle Exchange guys know what they are doing.  Anyone ever use their gaskets?
