Yeah, its an incredible bike!  ;D Also a great article. It isn't all Honda though, that frame is entirely custom built. There's obviously a lot of similarities to the stock frame, but the details make all the difference.

Awesome guys...  Keep them coming.

Mr. GreenJeans...

I have just read your build thread and I hope to follow a similar pattern to your build.  I paid $400 for the bike and I am setting a total budget of $1000.  So I will be re-reading your thread often to pick up some hints.  Keep the updates coming.

$1000 is plenty if you take your time and research the parts etc... I'll have about that in both bikes that I'm doing at the same time... It can be done.

Here's my '76 550K.

WJL75,

You have a nice bike.  Not too polished and pristine, but not too "rat bike" either.  I will be going for something similar to this.  I think I have about decided to try to keep my total budget to about $1000 including the price of the bike [$500] so unless I sell some parts I am looking at about $500 to spend on the build.

Yes, I pounded in the tank myself.  It really was not that difficult...there is plenty of information on this site if you do a search look for keyword "deadblow" or "knee dents"

Other than the tank, I changed to clubman bars, changed the turn signals and added paint.  That was it for purchases.  The rear fender I cut with a dremel and spent a lot of time cleaning and removing rust.

Glad you like the look.  For a while I was looking new cafe seats, but this one is growing on me.
