looking for some cb, cl, or sl 350 modified hp specs.
« on: September 06, 2007, 12:33:20 PM »
I have been doing a little research on modifying the 350 twin engine.  I can not seem to find any dyno specs on modified engines of any sort?  Is there anyone who has hopped up a 350 for any type of racing and got it dyno'd?
any rough calculated guesses on what to expect on hp, torque and or power to weight ratio when mods are done?

Any info on where to look?

as the comedian Steven wright said' "curiosity killed the cat but for awhile I was a suspect."

They guys that run the 350's here in Portland are claiming high 40's - low 50's RWHP.

thanks. that is something to look forward to when I start my new engine.  If I lower the weight of the rest of the bike that 40 to 50 rwhp would be sweet.

Remember, the fastest cb350 out here at PIR has well over 15k put into it to acheive that, though I think mid 40's would be more than reasonable on much, much less money.
I belive the 'slower' ones are running with headwork, special intake manifolds, different carbs, velocity stacks, high compression pistons, aftermarket cam chain and tensioner, hi-po cam, custom exhaust, larger intake valves, and I'd imagine they have to run aftermarket conrods to achieve the reliable 13 to 13.5k redline they run with. With all of that, I'm sure they've probably gone ahead and balanced, lightened and blueprinted the crank, flywheel, etc. They also run with a different 5th gear.
No.

that put more of a perspective on things.  I have 1 cb all original stocker and 2 cl's baskets.
I am willing to put a few grand into the cl's.  I am not going to do the 15k.  whew that would be the new buell if i had that cash.  would you happen to know of websites articles or forums for 350's?

thanks for the info
