is there any good options for a smaller headlight bucket for a 1980 cb650.

Check out the Cruiser section of [Insert your favorite catalog/supply website here]. You'd be amaze at what can be "made to work."  ;)

I've got a small, about 5" chrome headlight you can just have for the cost of shipping if you want it. No bulb though.
