Rear disk conversion on CB550K3
« on: September 13, 2007, 05:48:34 AM »
I'm just about to do my dual front disk conversion on my 550K3 and have now started to think about the feasibility of putting a disk on the back.

Has anyone done this?

Questions that spring to mind:
What wheel, disk, caliper, m/cyl etc? Different swing arm or mod the standard to mount a caliper?

Ideas welcome......

you could always you a rear of a 750. The swingarm I think is alittle shorter than the 550, but use the rear wheel and all linkage,etc..

Why to bother,
The rear drum is powerfull enough. The CB550's stock brakes are even sufficient for the race track.

If you still need more stopping power, go for a dual front disk setup (from a CB750).
