Yet another noobie from Kentucky.
« on: July 30, 2007, 10:39:18 AM »
I started a post for tech help first< http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=24641.msg252876#new, then realized I needed to come back and do this.

I just got my first bike, a 75? 550f, It's been a lot of fun and I ride it as regularly as I can(work, grocery, school, trips)  and I've had it about and hour or two out of town on occasion(do they make gel seats for these things?)  It's been a lot of fun but I have a lot of learning to do about how to maintain bikes in general(I do whats-it with the chain?)  I found a local friendly bike community, it's primarily sports bike but there are a few guys with old bikes.  If I ever find the time to go out to an even I'm hoping they'll help get em started.

Lunch break is over  :(

Welcome from the Louisville area! (actually across the river) I don't know about Lex, but a good place in Louisville for new and used parts, as well as some advice, is Magnum Cycles. 502-776-2142

Seems you got a pretty good deal on your bikes. If you're interested in selling the 700, let me know.

Welcome from upstate NY! If you're completely new to SOHC/4's, you might want to spend some time in the FAQ. I believe there's a thread there with general info. about these bikes.

so which of you fellow kentuckians wants to rebuild my carbs?

Do any of the honda dealers in the state(I'm primarily in either Lou or Lex) carry 5.5 m fuel hose or any other misc parts for our bikes?

I've only dealt with Station Park Honda on the phone and they're a bunch of jerks. S&S in Clarksville is pretty decent for a dealership. It depends on who waits on you really. The older guys are cool. Again, try Magnum Cycle on Dixie Hwy.
