« on: September 17, 2007, 07:46:30 PM »
I've been tossing some ideas around for when i powder coat my frame, tank, and fenders.  A few the ideas i had are...

black frame, white tank
red frame, white tank (engine in black)
red frame, black tank
gold frame, black tank
gold frame, white tank

what do you guys think... any other ideas?

(sorry if i stole a picture of your bike)

Well, this isn't a Honda but I really like this paint scheme with the gold frame and the white tank...

I would say red w/ black tank...but the gold w/ white tank looks nice too, reminds me of a Hurst Olds!

I'm really liking the candy powdercoating ...

Think I would go with a Candy-Red frame and a White & Red Triumph style tank theme.

I concur on both .  ..lol.    Though, I always liked red, black, AND white as a color scheme - might look good on a bike.

The gold is hard for me to dig. .  .too "blingy" or whateva.

I was going to go for a metallic purple or maybe lavender, myself, but I got hooked on the black/chrome contrast. .  .seems such a natural for motorcycles.

How about Patriot? Red and White scheme on tank and covers and blue frame? I'm not too fond of the gold or too much white. Pearl or candied colors are very showy. Personally I'm not color coordinated enough to get the right shades to compliment each other but if done right I think it would be awesome!

Have you considered powder coating the wheels?  Gloss black frame, tank, fenders, and rear cowl with red rims would be sweet.  Don't know if the black would be overwhelming with a black motor as well.  Carpy did a cafe he called "Red Devil" with a similar scheme but with flat black everything (I'm not as fond of flat).  He also painted the clutch cover black and the points cover red which IMO looks goofy as hell, but the rest looks great.

Though I',m not real fond of Cafe bikes. That really is a nicely done bike with way more polishing than I'd want! Has anyone seen a motor powdercoated white? I already have a nice red on the tank and side covers. I was thinking white motor and blue frame.
