Tail light problem.........
« on: September 14, 2007, 07:51:20 AM »
77 CB 550K, brake light works just fine, but the "running light" doesn't burn.
The bulb is in good shape.
I'm not much on the electrical stuff - can anyone help?

Did this just happen or has it been like that for a long time?  Are you positive that the filament for the running light hasn't burned out?

It's a fairly recent happening, as I KNOW it worked a month ago.
I was riding home from school last night when a guy at a stoplight told me it was out.
Sure enough, it was.
Fuses are good, and I know the bulb is good as I "reversed" the bulb and hit the brakes - the small filament came on then.
But the bulb back in correctly, hit the brakes, and the "bright" filament was lit.
I haven't made any changes to anything, so I'm kind of stumped.

Yep!  Mine came unplugged under the seat.  Took 3 to 6 seconds to fix.
