Longtime Lurker, First time poster from Northeast Indiana
« on: September 06, 2007, 12:31:40 PM »
Great site with great people.  I feel privileged to post.  I am a new rider with growing stable of Old Hondas in a wide range of conditions including:  1972 CB500 with approx 12k miles which is stock except Mac 4 into 2 and recovered seat in good condition with a few carb issues,  1972 CB350f project (hoping to cafe) which is running but needs cosmetic and carb work, and  I also have 2 '75 naked wings one very close to road worthy and the other needing a lot of work.  I look forward to posting in the future and of course much more reading of posts.  Oh yeah, 33 yrs of age, married, 1 child and one on the way.  My wife isn't thrilled about the timing of my new found love of bikes, but some things cannot be denied.

Welcome from southern Indiana.  ;)

I know what you mean about the timing of your new hobby. I bought my first bike last Feb. Two months later I found out I was going to be a dad for a 3rd time. My boy was born in Dec. so I didn't get to do much work on the bike last winter. Congrats, and remember there are more important things than bikes.

Rushoid:  You are definitely right about there being things more important than bikes...although I am pursuing this hobby without the full support of my wife, I didn't buy a GSXR or a $20k Harley (I don't want my wife too angry, my children orphaned or my children to want for time or money).

Hopterfix: I live in southern LaGrange county and work in Noble County approx. 35-45 minutes north of "the Fort".

Welcome from So. California.  You have found the best motorcycle site bar none!

I also have a '72 CB350F cafe' that I have been working on since I got her in 1980 (small mods to begin with and then a total redesign of electrics and air intakes).  She survived my 1st wife who hated motorcycles (though I did not ride for that 12 years) but now with my 2nd wife (who likes them), we have 5 motorcycles (the 350, '04 HD Sportster, '81 CB650 custom, '77 Yamaha XS750D, '81 Yamaha IT465) and 6 kids between us.  I am one busy guy!
Now  1972 CB350FX (experimental v2.0)
        1981 CB650c Custom with '79 engine (wifes)
        1981 CB650 engine
        2004 HD XL883C Custom
        1977 Yamaha XS750D (in progress)
Then 1972 CL175
        1964 Yamaha YGS-1T
