750 transmission bearing 91002-300-008
« on: September 16, 2007, 02:38:47 PM »
I am in need of a transmission bearing for my 750K0. Honda part # 91002-300-008. It is grooved to accept a retainer ring. Local dealer says : discontinued. I am awaiting a reply from DSS. If anyone has one or knows of another source, please contact me.
Has anyone been brave enough to use a readily available bearing without the locating groove? I don't see any side thrust in this location, but I would not want to find out the hard way.
Has anyone purchased small parts like this from World Motorcycles?

If that's the bearing on the "inside" of the countershaft sprocket have a look at this thread http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=20863.msg218201#msg218201 I have installed the Kawasaki bearing and it seems to be working fine on my K0 motor. The bearing I got from the jobber had the groove and retainer ring but they were too narrow.
Hope this helps,
Cliff.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I have a NOS correct countershaft bearing. This one is on the input shaft, behind the clutch

Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
