69-70 CB750K speedo question
« on: September 15, 2007, 05:43:03 AM »
I was on the FAQ to check out how to get inside my speedo glass and the "how to" post is for a newer speedo and is a different unit.  On mine there is a plastic ring on the bottom which is part of that black speedo exterior housing.  Appears this will break if I try to get the guts out.  Any of you done this before?
Thanks.

You will have to cut the ring off. If it has a trip meter remove the knob. for reassembly cut a piece of motorcycle intertube 1/4" wide so it will fit over the flanges both the base and the top cover, that should take care of the problem  :D
PS. You can get a used tube from any motorcycle shop as they (should) always replace them..

Hi Johnie, if you do a search on the forum you will find some posts on the earlier speedo's, I was looking for info on my 76 CB750 speedo and came across them during a search.

Cheers
