Part 2:
We crashed at a motel in Brattleboro, VT for the night. And the CB had performed flawlessly. The only issue I have is bad gas mileage(around 32-34mpg).
We woke up at about 5am and got ready for the day. We packed our bikes up and hit up Bickford's for a nice big meal to start our day. We then left the restaurant at about 6:45am to continue on our trip up to, and across the White Mountains.
The morning was EXTREMELY hazy and the air was thick with moisture. The water collected on top of everything when we stopped and covered my windshield as we drove. The temp was already about 64 degrees before the sun even was up. The ride was going extremely well until we hit Lincoln, NH...The TRAFFIC!!!! WOWOW... I very much dislike stop and go on the bike. We stopped at a "Life is Good" shop and picked up a coupld of things for our loved ones and continued on.
This was our start on a fantastic journey across the Kancamagus Highway. The air was still hazy, but at this point the sun was making a concerted effort to peek through. The air was clean and it was everything I could hope for, especially riding with my Dad. We stopped quite a bit along the way to enjoy the views and to rest our butts. Almost every scenic stop we made I had people coming up and admiring my bike. They all had great stories about the old CB's and how they affected their childhood in one way or another. Its an interesting thing because my fathers bike is GORGEOUS but never got a second look. My father was in awe from the attraction the old CB drew. It was a great feeling.
We finished up the Kancamagus Highway and headed up RT16 to get to Mt. Washington.
Thats where things get REALLY interesting.
