Topic: 1976 CB550 Model Designation

I just purchased a 1976 CB550K and I am trying to find out the model designation. Is it a K0,K1,K2,K3 or what? I have seen the 1976 as a K76, but I am looking for a few parts and most companies only list K0,K1 etc. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I had the same question when I got my 76 550K all the information that I have found call it a 550K76.  Here is a cool website just scroll down to the 550's

Check your VIN against the model guide on the main sohc4 website to make absolutely sure of the model year, but if it's definitely a '76 then it's a K2.

Swede, cool website, thanks. Gordon, yes it is definitley a 1976 with the VIN, thanks, now that I know it is a K2 I can try and find the sidecovers to complete it. Thanks again guys!

Good luck on covers.  Let me know if you run across a seat.

The K0 to K2 are the same bikes.  You'll have to search the fiche for the others. 

Suggestion, new grommets are a beautiful thing.
